Abstract
The aim of this project is to develop WORLD-CLASS BEARING SUPERFINISHING machine tools that will not only be marketed and sold to the domestic market but also to the foreign market (exports). The objective is to develop machines that can compete with German companies such as Supfina and Thielenhaus on QUALITY, TECHNOLOGY, and INNOVATION. The development of bearing superfinishing technology and machine tools in India will dramatically improve the accessibility of this technology to a wide range of bearing manufacturers in India and also promote the development of such new industries in the form of SME/MSMEs. This will enable the industry sector to reduce the dependence on imports and eliminate the “technology denial situation”. The development of this technology will help to increase India’s core capability to produce high-quality bearings and increase the competitiveness of the Capital Goods sector. Over a period of 5 years, it is expected that bearing superfinishing machines, associated process technology, and bearings produced out of these machines will penetrate into the markets the world over and bring in revenue through exports.
